The Peranakan Ball...

before i start my post on the musical ( The Peranakan Ball ) which was on the Saturday, i would like to start with the night before...
on Friday night, Jasmine ( Malaysian Jeanius ) flew to Singapore for the musical...
so, Pat ( another Malaysian Jeanius who studying in Singapore at the moment ) and I went to Changi Airport to invite Jas...
then, we headed to Clarke Quay to meet Fiona ( Singaporean Jeanius ) for dinner..
at first, we thought of eating Bak Kut Teh but the stall was closing...
so, we went for Fisherman Wharf which sell western seafood cafe...
i took Fish & Chip and it was really nice...
worth the money i would say...
but very sorry because i didn't take any picture of it..
then, we also ordered Fried Mushroom and it was nice too..
but i would prefer the Fried Mushroom from The Soup Spoon..
after we finished our "dinner" at 10.30pm, we went for a walk in Clarke Quay...
we were stunned by the Reversed Bungee..
so we stood there and witnessed all the people who took the ride...
it was extremely exciting and it is not for the faint-hearted person...
but i would like to try one day with mentally and physically preparations..
so, we carried on with our walk along the river...
all the bars and restaurants were packed with youngsters and "ang mohs"...
damn crowded...
but the view was fantastic and colourful...
Fiona said she want to make Jas drunk so she went to buy beer for both of them...
then they started to play "cai quan"...
so join in the fun, Pat and I also bought a can of beer for each one and played with them...
it was really funny during the time we were playing...
honestly, this was the first time i went out for a drink with friends...
maybe next time we can try to go for a drink but in Singapore ar...
Safer and better place...
hahaha....
by the way, i reached home at 1.30am that night...
first time again to be out for so late...

ok.. now, the BIG day!!! 16 May 2009....
" THE PERANAKAN BALL" was on the way for just a few more hours...
but during the day time, again, the same gang except Fiona but plus another new member who was Pat's sister, Yan Ping went to Bugis for Eudora aka Lala's birthday gift...
that day itself was her birthday...
and she is the head of the Jeanius Fanclub...
as we browsed around the whole Bugis Junction, we still don't know what to give her...
it was so DIFFICULT to buy gift for SINGAPOREAN, u know!!!
at the end, we bought a piggy speaker for her...
then we thought of wrapping it with a wrapping paper, full of our wishes...
so we went to National Library to scrible the wrapping paper...
and here's our product...

this is the almost done product...
honestly, i don't have the completed one but i still love it...
it was cheap but a thoughtful gift, i would say....
and yes, the birthday girl was suprised and hearted it a lot...
by the time we went back, we had only 30 minutes to shower because we were supposed to meet Eudora at 7pm in the Singapore Indoor Stadium...
but before going to the stadium, we went to Aljunied for quick dinner...

the moment that most of us were waiting for, was creeping closer and closer...
all Jeaniuses gathered outside the stadium and while waiting for our tickets, we mingled around with each others...
at 7.45pm, we went into the stadium and i was at row 2 in the middle ( the perfect view )...
wahahahahaha...
while waiting for the audiences to be seated, there were a few artists went for the musical too...
Felicia, Lin Mei Jiao, Ng Hui, Apple Hong, Nat Ho, Yuan Shuai and there were a few more that i don't really know...
but I didn't approach them because we were doing some preparations like writing wishing card, organising our boards and so on...
Lin Mei Jiao was so friendly who kept on smiling and talking to us...
but Ng Hui seems a bit stuck-up with her " fake" smile...
kind of disappointed at her as in she was so friendly in front of TV...
maybe she just want to be low-profiled...
so here's some of the pictures i took..
enjoy...
The Stage

Me with the LED board

The 3 Mak Kaypohs

The main highlight : Jeanette Aw

Aww...

Bickering...

Olivia Ong singing Ru Yan.. NICE!!
SUPER SWEET!!!

the musical started with the 3 Mak Kaypohs which starred by Braydon Tan, Ben Yeo and Rong Zhu Yao...
they were super funny with those sissy actions plus a bit of macho actions and their dialogues were really funny...
kept on teasing at each others with the mixture of languages...
Hokkien, Malay and Mandarin, to be exact...
they were simply TOO FUNNY!!
then, it was Jeanette's appearance as the maid of the household...
she was kind of "sampat" in the musical...
i mean her character...
likes to daydream a lot...
even though most of the casts didn't sing lively, they pre-recorded songs were nice too...
Olivia did sang live, though, and her voice was simply too soothing...

after the musical ended, we got to meet the casts for autographs because we bought the S$118 ticket...
we were the last to go for the autographing session because we were ggoing to have a short gathering with Jeanette...
and yes, we did a group picture with her after that....
Jeaniuses + Jeanette

Singing Birthday song for Lala...
(fortunate hor~~~)

she could not stay too long with us because she has to rush to Pan-Pacific Hotel for a celebration party...
but after that, we had a suprise birthday celebration for the Birthday girl...
one of the Jeanius who didn't went for the musical purposely brought a cake and waited outside for us to meet her...
when Lala approached the place, she was so suprised!!
we sang birthday song again and she cut the cake...
and we mingled around until 11.15 pm...

at that time, there were left a few buses...
so we planned to take a bus to Bedok Interchange to catch the last bus...
when we reached there, i took a bus that was suggested by the information people...
BUT I TOOK AT THE WRONG SIDE!!!!
i supposed to head to Aljunied but instead, I was heading to Changi Airport...
at that moment, I was so nervous and worried because when i alighted at the secluded area, it was dark and lonely...
I was worried if i could get a taxi there or not..
but luckily, a taxi came by and i hailed and rushed into the taxi...
by the time i reached home it was about 1.00am and the taxi fare was S$12.60!!!
but i'm willingly to pay for it rather than stuck in that horrible place...

the next morning, i woke up at 10am because i was too exhausted for the outings...
so, i planned to stay at home and do my laundry...
but suddenly, i got a message from Pat, asking me out to Clarke Quay and meet with the Jeanius gang...
at first, i thought of not going because i've been spending too much money for the past 2 days...
but eventually, i still tempted to go out since i was so free at home...
we met with the rest at City Hall because they planned to do some doll as Jeanette's present...
so we went to Bras Basah for the clay and equipment...
after buying the things, we went to McDonald to start our "clay class"..
being so-not-artistic person, i just sat there and did the easier stuffs like the flower and the dog head...
well, at least i did try to contribute something...
haha...
after that, we went to have duck rice at Bugis before sending Jas to the airport...

so, this is the brief summary of what i have done for the past 3 days when i was in Singapore...
stay tune..
there are more to come...
